YELLOWMAN RETURN POLICY

Effective Date: 21 September 2026

Last Updated: 21 September 2026

This Return Policy explains when customers may return products purchased through the Yellowman marketplace, the conditions that apply to returns, how to initiate a return, and what happens after a returned product is received.

Yellowman Nigeria Limited ("Yellowman", "we", "us" or "our") operates a multi-vendor ecommerce marketplace. Products may be supplied by independent Vendors. This Policy therefore establishes the marketplace return framework while recognising that Vendors remain responsible for their products and fulfilment obligations, subject to applicable Nigerian law.

This Policy forms part of Yellowman's Terms and Conditions and should be read together with the Refund Policy, applicable product/Vendor return terms, Privacy Policy and any other policies displayed on the Platform.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to remove, restrict or waive any consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded under Nigerian law.

1. OUR RETURN COMMITMENT

Yellowman is committed to making product returns fair, transparent and reasonably convenient for customers.

Where a customer has a lawful right to return a product, Yellowman will facilitate the applicable return process. Where a return is offered as a commercial policy in addition to statutory rights, the applicable product or Vendor terms will be disclosed to the customer.

2. WHEN A PRODUCT MAY BE RETURNED

A product may generally be returned where:

  1. the wrong product was delivered;
  2. the product is materially different from its description, sample or specifications;
  3. the product is defective or unsafe;
  4. the product was materially damaged before or during delivery;
  5. the product does not conform to the agreed specifications or applicable legal requirements;
  6. the product is unsuitable for a particular purpose that was communicated to the Vendor and applicable law provides a return remedy;
  7. the customer was unable to examine the product before delivery and the product does not correspond with the description, sample, type or quality reasonably contemplated in the sales agreement;
  8. the Vendor's stated return policy permits the return;
  9. Yellowman authorises the return as part of a customer-service resolution; or
  10. another return right applies under Nigerian law.

3. RETURN PERIOD

Unless a different period is expressly stated on the product page, Vendor policy or applicable law, customers should request a return as soon as reasonably practicable after receiving the product.

For ordinary change-of-mind returns that are offered as a commercial policy, the applicable product/Vendor return window will apply.

For defective, unsafe, misrepresented or otherwise non-conforming products, the applicable statutory rights are not limited merely because a commercial return window has expired.

4. RETURN ELIGIBILITY

A product should generally be returned in the condition reasonably required for the applicable return or remedy.

Where applicable, the returned product should include:

  1. original packaging;
  2. accessories and components;
  3. manuals and documentation;
  4. warranty documentation;
  5. tags and labels; and
  6. other items supplied with the product.

Customers may reasonably inspect products to determine whether they are suitable. Reasonable inspection does not by itself invalidate a lawful return.

5. WRONG PRODUCT RECEIVED

If a customer receives a product that is materially different from the product ordered, the customer should report the issue through Yellowman's support process as soon as reasonably practicable.

Yellowman may arrange collection or provide return instructions and may facilitate a replacement or refund, depending on availability and the applicable remedy.

6. DAMAGED PRODUCT

If a product arrives materially damaged, the customer should, where reasonably possible:

  1. photograph the product and packaging;
  2. retain the packaging until the matter is resolved;
  3. record any visible damage;
  4. contact Yellowman promptly; and
  5. follow the return or collection instructions provided.

Where the damage occurred before delivery or during fulfilment, Yellowman will work with the Vendor or logistics provider to determine the appropriate remedy.

7. DEFECTIVE OR UNSAFE PRODUCTS

Customers may request a return where a product is defective, unsafe or otherwise fails to conform to applicable requirements.

Depending on the circumstances, the remedy may include repair, replacement, refund, price adjustment or another remedy required or permitted by law.

A Vendor must not require a customer to accept a defective or unsafe product merely because the Vendor's ordinary return window has expired where the customer has a continuing statutory remedy.

8. CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS

A customer may request to return a product simply because it is no longer wanted or the customer has changed their mind where the applicable Vendor/product return policy allows such a return.

Change-of-mind returns may be subject to reasonable conditions, including a specified return period, product condition, original packaging and return delivery arrangements.

A change-of-mind return policy is a commercial facility and does not replace or restrict mandatory statutory rights.

9. PRODUCTS THAT MAY HAVE RETURN RESTRICTIONS

Certain products may reasonably be excluded or restricted from change-of-mind returns because of their nature, including:

  1. personalised, customised or made-to-order products;
  2. perishable goods;
  3. opened hygiene or sanitary products where return would create health or safety concerns;
  4. sealed software, media or digital products after opening or activation, where permitted by law;
  5. products that cannot reasonably be resold for health, safety or regulatory reasons;
  6. products materially damaged, altered or misused by the customer; and
  7. other categories where applicable Nigerian law permits a return restriction.

These restrictions do not apply to the extent that they would unlawfully remove a customer's rights concerning defective, unsafe, misrepresented or non-conforming products.

10. HOW TO INITIATE A RETURN

Customers should initiate a return through the Yellowman order-support or customer-service channel.

A return request should normally include:

  1. order number;
  2. customer name and account details;
  3. product name;
  4. reason for return;
  5. photographs or video where relevant; and
  6. any other information reasonably required to assess the request.

Yellowman may request additional information where reasonably necessary to determine whether the return is valid and which remedy applies.

11. RETURN APPROVAL

Where a return request requires approval, Yellowman or the relevant Vendor will review the information provided.

A return may be approved, conditionally approved, declined where lawful, or referred for further investigation.

Where a return is declined, Yellowman may provide the reason where reasonably appropriate.

12. RETURN COLLECTION AND DELIVERY

Depending on the product, Vendor and delivery location, Yellowman may:

  1. arrange collection from the customer's address;
  2. provide a return address;
  3. provide a designated drop-off location;
  4. provide a courier return label or instructions; or
  5. provide another reasonable return method.

Return logistics may vary by Vendor, product type, location and reason for return.

13. WHO PAYS RETURN SHIPPING?

Where the return is required because Yellowman or a Vendor supplied the wrong product, a materially defective product, an unsafe product, a materially damaged product or a product that materially differs from its description, Yellowman will seek to provide an appropriate return arrangement and will not knowingly impose an unreasonable return burden on the customer.

For change-of-mind returns offered as a commercial policy, the applicable product or Vendor return terms may determine who bears return delivery costs.

Where Nigerian law requires the seller or another party to bear return-related costs, those legal requirements will prevail.

14. MULTI-VENDOR ORDERS

A single Yellowman checkout may contain products supplied by different Vendors.

Each product may have its own return process because:

  1. the products may be supplied by different Vendors;
  2. delivery may occur separately;
  3. the products may have different return conditions;
  4. the products may be subject to different warranties; and
  5. the applicable remedy may differ based on the product and circumstances.

Returning one product does not automatically cancel or return other products in the same order.

15. RETURNING PART OF AN ORDER

Customers may generally return only the affected product or products where the return right applies to part of an order.

Where a promotional offer, bundle or discount was dependent on purchasing multiple products, the return may affect the applicable promotional benefit in accordance with the disclosed promotion terms and applicable law.

16. INSPECTION OF RETURNED PRODUCTS

Returned products may be inspected by Yellowman, the relevant Vendor, manufacturer, courier or authorised service provider to determine the condition of the product and the appropriate remedy.

Inspection may include checking:

  1. whether the returned product corresponds to the product originally supplied;
  2. whether the product is defective or damaged;
  3. whether accessories and components are present;
  4. whether there are signs of misuse or unauthorised alteration; and
  5. whether the product meets applicable return conditions.

17. RETURNS INVOLVING WARRANTY PRODUCTS

Where a product is covered by a manufacturer or Vendor warranty, the customer may be directed to the applicable warranty process where appropriate.

A warranty process does not remove any statutory consumer rights that apply to the transaction.

18. REFUNDS AFTER A RETURN

Where a return results in a refund, the refund will be processed in accordance with Yellowman's Refund Policy.

The customer should not assume that submitting a return request automatically creates an immediate refund. The product may need to be returned, received and assessed before the applicable refund is approved, unless the circumstances or applicable law require otherwise.

19. REPLACEMENT AFTER A RETURN

Where appropriate and available, Yellowman or the Vendor may offer a replacement instead of a refund.

The replacement should materially correspond with the original order unless the customer agrees to an alternative.

If a suitable replacement is unavailable, the customer may receive another lawful remedy, including a refund where applicable.

20. RETURNS FOR PROMOTIONAL ITEMS AND FREE GIFTS

Where a purchased product included a free gift or promotional item and the transaction is returned in circumstances that require the promotional benefit to be reversed, the free gift may also need to be returned, subject to the applicable promotion terms and law.

Yellowman will not use promotional terms to defeat a mandatory consumer right.

21. RETURN OF USED, ALTERED OR DAMAGED PRODUCTS

Where a customer has materially damaged, altered or misused a product after delivery, the customer's return or remedy may be affected to the extent permitted by law.

Normal inspection and reasonable handling of a product to determine its suitability do not automatically constitute misuse.

22. DIGITAL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

Digital products, software, licences, subscriptions and electronically delivered services may be subject to product-specific return conditions.

Where access, download, activation or use has commenced, return eligibility may depend on the applicable product terms and Nigerian law.

Nothing in this section removes a remedy where a digital product or service is defective, materially misrepresented, not supplied as agreed or otherwise gives rise to a mandatory legal remedy.

23. GIFT PURCHASES

Where a product was purchased as a gift, return eligibility remains subject to the applicable product/Vendor policy and Nigerian law.

Any resulting refund will normally be processed against the original transaction and payment method unless another lawful arrangement is agreed.

24. FRAUDULENT OR ABUSIVE RETURNS

Yellowman may investigate return requests where there is reasonable evidence of fraud, abuse or intentional misuse of the return process.

Examples may include:

  1. returning a different product from the one purchased;
  2. submitting false photographs or other evidence;
  3. deliberately damaging a product before returning it;
  4. claiming a product was defective when the evidence reasonably indicates otherwise;
  5. repeatedly abusing change-of-mind or promotional return facilities; or
  6. using multiple accounts to obtain improper returns.

Any action taken will be subject to applicable law and legitimate consumer rights.

25. VENDOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Vendors on Yellowman are responsible for:

  1. accurately describing products;
  2. clearly identifying applicable return conditions;
  3. accepting lawful returns;
  4. responding promptly to return requests;
  5. providing appropriate return instructions;
  6. cooperating with Yellowman investigations;
  7. honouring applicable warranties and statutory remedies; and
  8. complying with applicable Nigerian consumer protection laws.

26. YELLOWMAN'S ROLE IN RETURNS

Yellowman may facilitate returns, communicate with Vendors, coordinate logistics, review evidence, process or facilitate refunds and take marketplace action where appropriate.

Because Yellowman is a marketplace, Yellowman may not physically possess the product being returned. A Vendor, manufacturer, courier or other authorised service provider may receive or inspect the returned product.

Yellowman's marketplace role does not remove any legal responsibility of the Vendor or any statutory rights of the customer.

27. RETURN DISPUTES

If a customer disagrees with a return decision, the customer may request that Yellowman review the matter by providing relevant evidence and explaining the basis of the dispute.

Yellowman may request additional evidence from the customer, Vendor, courier, payment provider or other relevant party.

Nothing in this internal review process prevents a customer from exercising any statutory right to seek redress before a competent regulatory body, tribunal or court.

29. GOVERNING LAW

This Return Policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Nothing in this Policy prevents a customer from exercising any statutory right to seek redress before a competent regulatory body, tribunal or court.

30. CHANGES TO THIS RETURN POLICY

Yellowman may update this Return Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, regulatory requirements, Platform features, Vendor arrangements, logistics processes or customer-service procedures.

The latest version will be published on the Platform with the applicable effective date.

Where applicable law requires notice or consent for a material change, Yellowman will provide the required notice or obtain the required consent.

31. CONSUMER RIGHTS

Nothing in this Return Policy is intended to remove, restrict or waive any consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded under Nigerian law.

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 provides consumer protections concerning goods, product quality, safety, returns, refunds and related matters. Yellowman's return process is intended to operate consistently with applicable legal requirements.

Where a mandatory legal requirement conflicts with this Policy, the mandatory legal requirement shall prevail.

32. FINAL STATEMENT

Yellowman is committed to providing a fair, transparent and practical return experience for customers while maintaining a clear and workable framework for independent Vendors.
